Allow me to introduce myself…

I’m Rosetta Thurman, Founder of Happy Black Woman®, a personal development company dedicated to empowering Black women entrepreneurs to create the lives and businesses of their dreams.

My entrepreneurial journey began in 2008 when I launched my first business as a consultant, speaker, and coach. What started as a side hustle quickly grew, and less than 2 years later, I was able to replace my income, quit my nonprofit job, and work for myself full-time.

The following year, I took a leap of faith. I let go of all my possessions, ended my apartment lease and became a digital nomad.

With just a suitcase and a laptop, I traveled the world for 5 years, living and working from some of my dream destinations, including Hawaii, Greece, France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Bali, Argentina, and more!

Fast forward to today and I have generated over $5 million in revenue through courses, digital products, events, retreats, masterminds and coaching programs.

But what matters most to me is that my work has inspired thousands of Black women around the world to create the impact, income and freedom they deserve!

I’m the author of Launch Your Business: The 5-Step Solution to Do What You Love, Quit Your Job, and Have the Freedom to Travel and Live Life on Your Own Terms and host of The Happy Black Woman® Podcast with over 1M downloads.

My work has been featured in Essence, Black Enterprise, SUCCESS Magazine, Entrepreneur and more.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in English. I have also taught leadership and business courses as an Adjunct Professor at Trinity Washington University.

In my free time, you can find me on the plane headed to my next travel adventure, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, listening to old school music, or curled up on the couch with yet another true crime show. I currently live in the Washington, DC area with my husband, Jacarl.
